Dr. Douglas Luke

Douglas Luke is a seasoned financial administrator in higher education with a professional legacy of dynamic leadership, strategic partnership and life-long learning.   He has a passion for serving and contributing to institutions that provide access, equity and social justice and which enable students to achieve their educational goals.

Douglas is the Budget Director for Academic Affairs at North Carolina – Asheville.  He is responsible for directing and coordinating the budget preparation and long-range financial planning process for departments, programs, and academic administrative units under the jurisdiction of the Provost. In addition, Douglas works with the administrative offices, directors and deans to ensure compliance with established budgets and operational plans, human resource management and a variety of institutional reporting and analysis tasks.  Douglas earned his bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University, master’s and Ed.D from Texas A&M University and M.Ed. from Dallas Baptist University.  He is a 2017 fellow of the Millennium Leadership Institute affiliated with American Association of State Colleges and University (AASCU) and a 2018 fellow of the Executive Leadership Academy at the Center for Studies in Higher Education on the University of California Berkeley campus.

His professional affiliations include Southern Association of College University Business Officers (SACUBO), National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), and College Business Management Institute (CBMI).
