NOTE: You will need to arrange to get your items to the Swap Shop, for there is no on-campus moving service. Remember to fill-out a property survey form as well, before taking your items to the Swap Shop, or donating or disposing of unwanted items. The Swap Shop has a limited amount of space, and may not be able to take all of your items. If they cannot take your items, feel free to contact a charity to donate the items or to contact your department or college office to arrange for a mover to pick up the items for disposal.

How do I donate items to off-campus charities?

If the Swap Shop cannot take your items, and you would like to donate these items to a charity, feel free to contact the charity on your own to arrange a pick-up time with them. If you donate state property, remember to fill-out a survey form and to get a letter from the charity stating the exact items that were donated as well as their dollar worth. Please contact Ed Baumgarten, Property Clerk in Distribution Services, at (415) 338-1365 or with questions or concerns.
