Academic Affairs is composed of six colleges and a broad array of offices that provide services and support to the university. The colleges are comprised of more than seventy-five schools and departments offering over two hundred academic programs, majors, minors, concentrations, and credential and certificate programs.

The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the university and is responsible for the formulation and implementation of academic plans, policies, and priorities, and for the allocation of resources to carry these matters forward.
